EXPERIENCE REPORT: DANIEL PETER - INVENTOR AND GENNY DRIVER
At the beginning of December last year we had the pleasure to welcome our longtime customer and GENNY driver Daniel Peter on the occasion of a vehicle inspection at our premises in Unterseen and to interview him about his self-balancing wheelchair on SEGWAY basis. During a joint lunch he told us about his experiences with the GENNY.
The next, bigger tour in Switzerland is the Heart Route for Peter and his partner, who will be travelling by bike. Thanks to the elevated sitting position on the GENNY, communication between them at the same height is no problem. And another advantage over a classic wheelchair - which has to be pushed by an accompanying person - is that you are travelling side by side and not one behind the other, which makes it easier to communicate together. In summary, GENNY gives Daniel Peter much more freedom, independence and quality of life.

But the GENNY has also become indispensable for him in his job. He often and gladly travels alone on professional missions, is a digital nomad and can therefore work from anywhere. With his company petertools.life, inventor and Daniel "Gyro Gearloos" Peter develops a whole range of useful products for handicapped people, in line with his motto and company slogan "missing links for an easier life". Be it an attachment wheel or foot board for wheelchairs, a shoelace that can be operated with one hand or a range of high-quality, mouth-blown drinking glasses, Daniel Peter makes the lives of many people easier with his inventive talent.
Speaking of glasses, wine is also one of Daniel Peter's great passions. Recently he was able to personally receive his certificate as a certified wine expert WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 4 in London, a distinction that very few people in Switzerland hold and which is one of the most prestigious diplomas in the world of wine.
Especially for the trip to London, Daniel Peter developed two individual backpacks, each with a capacity of four kilograms, in which he transported his personal luggage to London. The train journey on the GENNY ran from Biel via Paris to London and also included some train changes with change of trains, which Daniel Peter was able to master without any problems thanks to his fast, self-balancing wheelchair.
Daniel Peter also calls his way of traveling "all-electric", whether by train, the GENNY or his TESLA Model S. He built and converted this sleek electric car entirely according to his needs. Thus, the GENNY is loaded into the trunk by means of a precisely designed crane. Daniel Peter stows his ultra-light manual wheelchair in the low-lying front trunk. The TESLA Model S serves the GENNY quasi as a charging station, because it is charged via the on-board battery of the electric car. Daniel Peter produces the electricity for the TESLA in an environmentally friendly way using solar cells in his home. Daniel Peter's fully electric mobility concept impressed us very much!
